The JPG newsletter: the newsletter edition
Hopefully the first and last time this is an actual project-specific newsletter
Hello everyone,
Writing this short update since next week we’ll be in New York for the NFTNYC conference and we have a bunch of updates for you:
The Alchemist x JPG Gallery
The unbothered, moisturized, happy, in their lane, focused, flourishing, curating jpegs with jpg fren CoinAlchemist published the second community-curated JPG exhibition yesterday.
Click here to admire the generative art collection and his work.
JPG’s contributor William also published a blogpost about it, in case you want to learn more.
Trent posted a very cool thread on the topic with his favorites.
The jpegs at NFT.NYC
I’ll be there at the 4:30 -5:30 pm (EST) block speaking about longevity in the NFT space (for a whopping 10 minutes, quite ironic) at the Palladium stage.
Trent, Marshall, and Sam will be there too, and we would love to chat if you are around - so slide into our Twitter DMs
Rhizome x Kadist @ New Museum: Speculative Values: Between the Institution and the NFT
On November 4th, I’ll be live-streamed alongside the most incredible group of people ever discussing a variety of topics. Speakers are Joseph del Pesco, Michael Connor, Shumon Basar, Keller Easterling, Hito Steyerl, Mat Dryhurst + Holly Herndon, Nato Thompson, Rhea Myers, Ruth Catlow in conversation Artnome, Aaron Wright, Priyanka Desai, and Trevor McFedries.
Capitale GN Party/ exhibition
We’ll be sponsoring GN an event on November 4th featuring an NFT gallery that will be curated using JPG at Capitale NY. We might be doing demos for you to play with your jpegs on jpg, so hope to see you there! (website coming soon, ill share on Discord)
Open call for IRL exhibition + headhunting in NY + we’re performing at NFT culture proof
As most of you know by now, a lot of people aren’t able to make it to NY because the travel ban was lifted way too late. So if you are doing an event in NY and have an NFT exhibition - we’d love to host it on JPG, and make it accessible to everyone online (and on-chain!). Open call here.
We are also headhunting for full-time designers and some technical roles. If in NY we would love to meet you IRL. If you’re not gonna be there, no worries, reply to this email and we’ll make a call happen.
Community fren Emre’s building a new website in order to catalog and organize on-chain art - take a look and contribute if you can!
That’s it for now! Will be back with our usual nonsense newsletter after our trip. And sleeping for three weeks straight because IRL will be exhausting.
Till then,
MP
